I Dual Edge Crack Detection System
RYECO
offers a system which solves the costly problems of undetected paper
edge defects, namely hours of production downtime and lost profits.
The Dual Edge System I™ detects edge defects on both edges including
fold-overs and non-separated edge cracks resulting in improved runability,
reduced trim and fewer paper breaks.
Two
precise streams of air are directed toward opposite surfaces of
the web. As non-separated crack passes through the sensor jaws,
the defect is deflected to form a small opening for the optics
to penetrate. The
same air which deflects the crack, closes it as it leaves the
sensor.
